Joy to the drug store, my Jolt has come...
Jul. 9th, 2007 @ 11:59 am
Incase any Jolt fanatics missed it, Walgreens is now carrying 3 flavors of Jolt (including Blue and Cola); i've recently found them in most Walgreens stores _in my area_ [Broward County, FL].
Also interesting: looks like Jolt is releasing 8oz and 16oz versions of their tasty beverage.

$3 a can?
$3 per battery can at Walgreens seems very expensive. $3 per six pack used to be a lot and this equates to $9. Jolt is not an energy drink, it is a cola. I love Jolt but will not pay $3 per battery can! Sorry
jolt is not an energy drink? are you NUTS?!? it's still the only drink that gets me wired! part of why i love that flat cola taste is i also know it's got a goddamn TON of pure caffeine, the shoot-me-up-like-a-rocket stuff in coffee without the horrible taste! not to mention it's SO rare and after having been without it for so long, $3 is a bargain.

Re: $3 a can?
I'm with you on the price. I've found Jolt at many of my local Walgreens lately (and some tiny Indian-run convenience stores). I was super stoked at first, took me back to my "Hack the planet" days.
$3+tax for some soda. Even if it's in a cool battery can now.
I'd rather pay $1 for a 2-liter of Mountain Dew. Or pepsi Max.
it's just financially more sensible.
They need to rethink and adjust things somehow.
i haven't checked the price in a while but i could have sworn the last time i bought it was like $2.25, which is the same price for most of the other "chic" large-can energy drinks. it does make it a bit of a luxury (nobody should be chugging energy drinks every day btw, it's basically soda x 2) but to me it's worth splurging on once in a while.
incidentally i was just thinking about making my own energy juice today... i've been hooked on Rumba energy juice as of late (link
) since it's got less calories, sugar, etc than other energy drinks and it's 100% juice and not juice-flavored chemicals. of course it's $2.25 a can so i think i'll buy a bottle of Guarana pills from GNC and a gallon jug of Florida's Natural orange juice and make my own drinks. if you want to find rumba it seems to be at most Mobile gas stations and CVS stores.

Only the 24 Oz cans available
On the site they mention 3 sizes for the cans however, they don't have the small available outside of the fridge local. Luckily they are going to sell me some. I'm going to take one when I go to my local bar to have them make a concoction for me. That's after I get it in the mail. And I might see if I can get some coffee houses in my area to get it for me. Viva .. La.. Jolt fridge.
